ProRep Beardie Life - Natural Substrate for Bearded Dragons

Create a realistic, enriching habitat for your bearded dragon and other desert-dwelling reptiles with ProRep Beardie Life Substrate. This carefully blended sand and soil mix replicates the terrain of arid desert environments, supporting natural behaviours like digging, foraging and burrowing while helping maintain proper hydration and humidity.

Key Features and Benefits

• Realistic Desert Environment: A sand and soil blend that mimics natural desert terrain.
• Packs Well: Formulated to hold together rather than behaving like loose play or calcium sand.
• Promotes Natural Behaviours: Encourages digging, burrowing and foraging for physical and mental stimulation.
• Supports Shedding & Hydration: Absorbs and gradually releases moisture to help maintain localised humidity.
• Ideal for Arid Species: Suitable for bearded dragons, Uromastyx, leopard geckos and other dry-region reptiles.

A Note on Loose Substrate

Substrate choice for bearded dragons is a genuinely debated topic. A well-packed natural sand and soil blend like this is different from loose play sand or calcium sand, which are widely advised against due to a well-documented impaction risk. Even so, loose substrates are generally best reserved for healthy, well-hydrated adults - juveniles, whose digestive systems are less developed, are usually better suited to a solid substrate such as tile or paper. If you're unsure what's right for your dragon's age and health, it's worth asking your vet or an experienced keeper.

How to Use

Spray water into one section of the enclosure, or underneath a hide, to create humid microclimates, allowing your reptile to self-regulate their moisture needs just as they would in the wild.
