Komodo Tortoise Eco Terrain - Natural Burrowing Substrate (10L)

Created to meet the flooring needs of Mediterranean, Russian and other tortoise species from arid environments, Tortoise Eco Terrain helps replicate the terrain found in their natural habitat. A deep layer allows tortoises to carry out normal burrowing behaviour, just as they would in the wild.

Key Features and Benefits

• Enriching: Encourages natural digging and burrowing behaviour.
• Supports Heat Regulation: A deeper substrate layer lets tortoises burrow to regulate their temperature.
• Multi-Use: Also suitable for use with certain lizard species.
• 100% Natural: A sustainable soil and sand mix.

Why We Rate This

Burrowing is a genuine, natural behaviour for arid-species tortoises, not just an occasional habit, so getting a substrate that supports it properly makes a real difference to their wellbeing. The soil and sand mix holds its shape well enough for burrows to stay put, while still being loose enough to dig into easily - a balance that's harder to get right than it sounds.
